Finding Your Niche: Merging Your Passion with Your Law Practice

You have invested a significant amount of time and money in becoming an attorney, wouldn’t it be a good idea to invest a bit more effort to proactively choose the area of the law where you will spend your legal career? And, even if you aren’t a new attorney, wouldn’t it be nice to learn about other areas of the law that may also interest you?

“Finding Your Niche: Merging Your Passion with Your Law Practice” is the first of three Flash CLEs sponsored by CABA. A panel of attorneys who have established niche practices will discuss their practices, including how and why they got started, what their “typical” day is like, the challenges and successes they have experienced in choosing their particular niche practice and what makes them stay the course. The CLE will spotlight the following legal niches: Appellate, Criminal Defense, Immigration and Patent Law.

The one-hour CLE is free to CABA members. The cost is $10.00 to non-members.

Panelists:

  • Appellate Law—David Neil McCarty, David Neil McCarty Law
  • Immigration Law—Amelia Steadman McGowan, Catholic Charities, Inc. of Jackson
  • Criminal Defense—Chuck Mullins, Coxwell & Associates
  • Patent Law—Michael Williams, Bradley
